Land-Rover offered for completion of restoration. 1960 short
wheelbase safari station wagon. Originally from Arizona and never
known to have been in road salt. There is also no evidence of any
accident, assuming one dismisses minor panel bruising. Surface rust
only on exposed steel parts. Our requirements for this machine
before dispatch are that the body be straight, its surface rust
issues be addressed, that all systems and equipment operate properly
and that it be roadworthy and safe. At the moment the majority of
those issues have already been addressed. This vehicle is a favorite
of the owner because of its unusually straight panel work. Not all
panels are perfect by any means, but the majority are superlative.
It will need two outer wings and a minimum amount of panel work in a
few spots. We do not require that it be resprayed, just that the
rust issues be addressed properly. Its good points include the
overall body condition, its former venue (Arizona plates are still
mounted), an essentially sound and quiet running engine and drive
line, rebuilt, correct and original Solex carburetor, proper and
correct electrics, all good and original glass, original and nice
Warn M11 hubs, resprayed rims and virtually new steel radials. Also
the vehicle is 98% original and correct and complete, upholstery
excepted. There are issues with the left floor and rear cross
member, which both require straightening; the latter will require a
small amount of welding. The charging system will need a bit of
sorting, and there are minor wiring issues, but overall this vehicle
offers wonderful restoration promise. It has been purchased in such
that we can offer it at a very attractive price, obviously
contingent upon the balance of the work described being carried out
professionally before delivery to the new owner. This vehicle is
priced, subject to the terms described, for $4,998.00.
1960 Series II Land-Rover offered for
restoration completion. Similar to above vehicle except in the
following respects: the panel work is 99% perfect with the exception
of the tropical panel, which requires minor straightening. Its good
points include its being an approximately 90% original and correct
vehicle, its never having been in an accident or in the salt, its
having undergone a large amount of restoration work (including new
and Genuine Land-Rover front wings), and its original venue
(California). It will require new tires, a respray, upholstery
restoration, probably a wiring harness, and general mechanical
sorting. It devolved to British Northwest as the fallout of a
divorce, so we are offering it at a fraction of the equity in this
fine restoration candidate. Rust is wholly a non-issue. The
original color is the number-one-requested pastel green. Offered at
$9,800.00, contingent upon completion by British Northwest.
Outright sale is not offered. Terms: minimum of $1,000 per month
restoration budget. Similar completion terms to above vehicle, but
upholstery restoration must be carried out.
Land-Rover 109 regular offered on similar
terms to the above vehicles. Again, this vehicle is a superlative,
rust-free and 98% straight machine with unusual provenance. Under
restoration for a former client, now deceased, this vehicle has
undergone the following: panel work necessary to ready it for
respray (original color: Land-Rove marine blue), segmental respray
of steel dash and radiator cowl, rebuilt engine, gearbox and axles,
hydraulic system rebuild throughout, fresh wiring harness, and fresh
engine peripherals as required. Currently it has no dedicated roof
system, so it can be delivered as a pickup, a hard top, a camper or
a soft top. Offered as seen, for completion by British Northwest at
$36,000. Further details available upon request.
